Controller dropped out, crashed a little while later

Summary:
Offbrand controller dropped out between rounds, crashed at the beginning of the next fight

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Play arcade mode as Valerie, using a Spartan-brand controller (possibly an older Oplon)
  2. ???
  3. Switch to keyboard when controller drops out between rounds vs third opponent
  4. Begin fighting fourth opponent
  5. Back-A into their forward(?)-A
    (Arg->DeGrey->Rook->Lum)

Expected Results:
No game crash.

Actual Results:
Game crash.

Linux.
