Summary:
I installed the latest LTS of kubuntu in an old laptop and then tried to see if FS would run but it doesn’t. I tried setting the game’s “Launch options” in Steam to -screen-fullscreen 0 but that doesn’t work either.
I read the logs and I’m not sure if it’s saying this laptop is too old to run it or that I have to update some things or both.

I don’t know much specific about FS itself, but I think it’d almost certainly be useful to know what hardware (cpu, graphics card, whether discrete or integrated) and graphics drivers you are using. The command lshw -c video ought to be a good start to get that info.
