How to Fix rare extreme controller issues in regedit (Windows 10)

I recently had a bug that appeared to occur due to having controllers with multiple modes (PC/XBox switches) and also switching between Patreon and Steam builds of Fantasy Strike… which left Windows 10 very confused and my controllers refusing to work correctly in game no matter what I did.

Thelo sorted it out with this fix, but as it was in discord patreon chat only, I just thought I would share it here in case anyone else needs a fix this drastic (hopefully not though!). I needed to do step 3 too (full registry fix) for it to work:

  1. Close the game, then run regedit to open the Windows registry editor

  2. then go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sirlin Games\Fantasy Strike

and delete the keys whose name starts with mapping_ , p1_ , and p2_

  1. If there still is a problem, delete the keys whose name start with cInput_ as well
    (then start the game)
