Wrong character in survival after ranked match

I was searching for a ranked match and went into Survival mode. I selected Valerie as my character.
A challenger appeared, and I played my ranked match, then the game took me back to Survival.
Survival continued with the same number of wins that I had when I left off, but it had changed my playable character to Argagarg instead of Valerie.

This is on Switch with latest patch.

This problem still exists. I chose Quince in a Survival (50 opponents) game, then got pulled into a Ranked game. At the end of the ranked game, I went back to Survival (50 opponents), but now I was playing as Jaina.
